Persephone Movie Club Voting

Wow! We got a lot of suggestions for movies to watch and discuss!

Now it’s time to vote for our favorites. Since we had so many suggestions in the comments on Monday (plus a few of my own or that I crowdsourced from Facebook to ensure we included more WOC and LGBTQ characters), y’all can vote for up to 10 in the comments. All links are to the IMDB pages of the films; hopefully I’ve selected the right versions if there are more than one with the same title. Voting will be open all weekend and I’ll announce the winner and first discussion dates next week. Also, let me know how often you’d like to meet. I was initially thinking once a month, but there are so many good suggestions here that if people are willing, we could try to meet more frequently. I didn’t have time to check the availability of all of these on Netflix/Amazon Instant, but before choosing what we’ll watch I’ll make sure they’re on at least one of those, preferably both. Now the hard part – picking just 10!

By [E] Hillary

Hillary is a giant nerd and former Mathlete. She once read large swaths of "Why Evolution is True" and a geology book aloud to her infant daughter, in the hopes of a) instilling a love of science in her from a very young age and b) boring her to sleep. After escaping the wilds of Waco, Texas and spending the next decade in NYC, she currently lives in upstate New York, where she misses being able to get decent pizza and Chinese takeout delivered to her house. She lost on Jeopardy.
