Iron the linen napkins, get out the crystal, then check the local ordinances pertaining to public nudity. This sweet southern belle is hiding some serious whoopass beneath her peachy exterior.

You will need:
1/2 ripe, gorgeous summer peach
4-5 sage leaves, stems removed
1/2 t. brown sugar
A squirt of fresh lemon juice, about a teaspoon
2 ounces bourbon or whiskey
Ginger ale, just a splash
Slice the peach into manageable pieces, then drop into the bottom of a cocktail shaker with the sage, brown sugar and lemon juice. Muddle this mixture or smash it up with a spoon until you have a nice fruity, herbal puree. Add ice and whiskey. Shake until your arm starts to ache. Strain into a lovely glass, add a float of ginger ale on top. Serves one, on a porch swing, under a ceiling fan.

Word to the wise … make sure the peach is crazy ripe. My friend and I attempted these last night and it was a sad result. The peach was waaaay too hard.
You may all feel bad for me now.
Absolutely. Â This calls for a ripe peach for sure. Â If you can’t find any, might I recommend 1.5 ounces of peach nectar? Â Hope you try it again!
There needs to be a “Thirsty” or “Drunk” MoodThingy.
Do want! I suppose I’ll have to go out and get some whiskey now.
Why, thank you, darlin’s! Â Hope you enjoy it.
I’ve just declared this the Official Cocktail of Persephone Magazine. So say we all.
This is so perfect for Persephone!
This looks amazing. I will totally be trying it this weekend. :)
I was going through the recipe, thinking ‘Oh this is pretty innocent’ until wham, whiskey. Which made me laugh, so still great success?
