I have newfound respect for YouTube makeup people. I spent all afternoon editing this bloody video, and now all my awesome jokes and hilarious facial expressions are gone. Boo.
But the essential is still there: an easy and simple “back to school” makeup tutorial. If you don’t go to school, just think of it as an everyday makeup tutorial.
I made it voluntarily tame and discreet with younger viewers in mind. I mean I’m free to rock crazy Amy Winehouse eyeliner everyday if I want to, but some of you may be in high school, or have parents who are trying to totally ruin your life by being uncool about makeup. We all have our problems.

Or bosses/contracts who aren’t up on the wild wings. :-/
My suggestion for dealing with that boss: roll your eyes and say “UGH! But Boooosss, all the other kids get to wear winged eyeliner!!! You’re totally ruining my life!!”. And then stomp away.
Thankfully Most of my contracts (I do contract work on my good days, I don’t have enough good days to do not-contracts) are telecommutes and waiting for them to contact me, so.
I like this look! Â I’ll need to try it!
Thank you Linotte! Let me know how it works out for you!
I really like these posts! I am rather make-up illiterate, Â but I Â really want to learn more for the purposes of looking more polished/professional. Â I am wondering (if you are looking for post ideas) if you could do one on picking makeup colours (like for eye shadow, lipstick, and blush). I am a lady with olive skin, and I sometimes have a hard time picking what colours look good.
That is a brilliant idea, thank you! I will definitely film that.
I like these posts, but I still can’t wrap my mind around how much products you use. I clean my face and put mascara on, what am I missing here?
Ha! I definitely get that. Of course there are days when I roll out of bed, wash my face, put on moisturiser and get out. I only do my makeup when I want to do my makeup, I never want it to feel like a chore!
Brilliant, Meriem! Of course it helps that you’re gorgeous in the first place. :D But still, this is very helpful!
Aw thank you Bryn you’re far too kind!
