Australian brothers Chris and Liam Hemsworth really don’t look that much alike, but they are both in pictures, and they are both 6’3″ and they are both becoming known for roles in box office hits. So they are easy to confuse, in my opinion, much like back in the day when Baldwins were a dime a dozen. You know Alec is the oldest, but which one was it again?
We’ll start with the older brother, Chris. Chris is seven years older than Liam, and he’ll be 30 next year. Big brother got his start on the Australian soap opera Home and Away, which led to an appearance on the Australian version of Dancing with the Stars. In the USA, he had a role in the 2009 version of Star Trek, but he’s really known for his role as Thor. After Thor (the movie), he reprised the role in this summer’s Avengers.
Younger brother Liam is best known for playing Gale in the movie adaptation of the Hunger Games, as well as for being engaged to Miley Cyrus. He, too, got his start in Australian television on the same show as older brother Chris, Home and Away. He had a role in a thriller, Triangle, and met fiancee Miley while on the set of The Last Song. His claim to recent fame, though, is landing the role of Gale in The Hunger Games trilogy.
So how do you tell these Aussie brothers apart? For the moment, Chris is Thor, and Liam is Gale. If you see a Hemsworth at a country music concert, it’s probably Liam. If you see a Hemsworth pulling dad duty, it’s probably Chris (he has a wife and a child).
