Greetings, Persephoneers! I hope that those of you who just had a long weekend found something awesome to do with your extra time off!
Which leads me to today’s lunchtime poll question: if you had an extra day every week, one where you didn’t have to work/go to school/do any kind of mandatory stuff, what would you do with it?

Pottery. If I had an extra day, it would justify the cost for studio space, rather just paying for it and never having the time to actually use it.
Also: naps. Lots of them. Napping is a favorite hobby of mine.
Oh, I would write more—definitely write.
In a world with discipline I would go swimming or horse riding, write for three hours and experiment baking and cooking. In real life I’d watch series and films all day. Probably.
I’d like to say that I would read more, write more, or actually MAKE the things I pin on Pinterest, but if I’m being honest with myself, I’d probably lay around in bed alternating between sleeping, cuddling the cats, and watching Netflix.
Naps. All day. Which, to be fair, is what my usual weekend is like.
I would indulge the pleasure of being able to do what we wanted. With no other commitments, we could do just what felt right. I do like to think however this would frequently involve an increase of pyjama time.
I would find a way to take as many dance classes in one day as I could stand. Or I would deep clean my apartment. Or take naps between Netflix sessions?
Draw. I don’t draw nearly enough, and I miss it. If I am being extra grand and not very honest, I would like to say that I would also clean more, but that is a habit I am still working to form. I’ve let pain be my excuse for a while, but really, I didn’t let it stop me from the things that were fun, so I need to quit letting it stop me from doing things that are necessary (or really I need to start thinking of cleaning in terms of necessary so I actually do a little each day).
I was having increasing sketching-related thoughts recently and in the end made room for a jug of pencils, and stuck a pad in amongst nearby papers, so if the moment was there, I could just grab it.
I theoretically keep pencils and a sketch pad in my purse for the same reason, but I tend to get very tunnel focused while drawing, so I don’t like to do it in public, or with company. I do better when I actually give myself time to draw.
Definitely has to be about what works best for you. I found my desk was the best place for my pencils and pad, and it was the most amazing feeling to find myself back sketching.
Reading. Internets. Crafting. Nothing useful, that’s for damn sure!
I’d like to say I’d clean my apartment every week and work on my writing, but I’d probably just sleep late and screw around on the internet.
I have this on a coffee mug. It’s my favorite.
OK, I want that. *goes to find web store*

And I know of this other cool Zazzle spot, too. http://www.zazzle.com/opheliapayne
I got a school librarian job and am back in Michigan watching how students use the space. If I had an extra day, I would sleep and read and write, as there’s never enough time to manage as much of those three as I really want.
