What’s your favorite candy?
I’m partial to Cadbury Crunchie bars, which are easily found in many other countries except the U.S. Thankfully the boyfriend is more than willing to secretly order them off the Internet and bring them as a surprise dessert when I cook dinner.

I love most types of candies and sweets, although I have a weakness for artisan type dark chocolate bars and truffles and sour salt chewy type candies.
Lately I’ve been craving a lot of Asian candies, like Kasugai gummies (lychee and muscat grape are favorite flavors), ginger chews, sesame brittle, and Meiji brand meltyblend chocolates.
Anything chocolaty, like Nestle Crunch or the Hershey’s 5 or Pretzel M&Ms. Â Starbursts and licorice, too.
All of you are talking about chocolate. Which is a Whole Different Category. I’m going to go with organic, soft centered gummy bears (and other shapes). Or suikerhartjes. Zure matten. Is TNL candy land? Am I confused? I don’t know! But even though I can only eat it in small portions these days, I’m a big fan of the aggressively coloured stuff.
There’s this Polish candy bar called a Prince Polo that rocks my socks. It’s sort of like a Kit Kat but better. Otherwise, it’s really hard to go wrong with chocolate.
There’s no way for me to narrow it down. Cadbury Flakes, Reese’s (both cups and pieces), Take 5, Snickers, and classic M&M’s are probably my all-time faves.
I’m not actually that big of a candy person. I do like chocolate, but it usually has to be better quality than, say, a Snickers bar, for me to REALLY like it. They just put too much fake shit in a lot of American candy.
However, I will eat the shit out of Thin Mints and anything that tastes like them.
Unfortunately, my stomach and lactose don’t get along, so there are a lot of candies I can’t eat. I love the fancy dark chocolate bars with espresso bits in them, though. Also, Reese’s Pieces are awesome. Also, MAMBA. Like Starburst, but BETTER.
Wait, there are Dove dark chocolate w/raspberry? I NEED these now.
You and me both.
Reece’s Pieces. Â In popcorn. Â At the movies!
Ah! Fellow US Crunchie bar lover who is thwarted by their lack of existence in the US! Hello! I actually made my own version once. It’s really fun, but I had to mop the floor three times before it quit being sticky.
You need to share this recipe in a future post!
I am all about the dark chocolate. In particular, I like the ghirardelli dark chocolate squares with various fillings (raspberry, caramel, mint, etc).
There’s a small candy shop downtown that makes dark chocolate covered candied orange peels. Oh. My. Stars. But those are a rare treat, so every day candy goodness is most any kind of hard candy (especially Werther’s)(and those big gourmet lollipops you can find at pretty much every checkout line)
Do I really have to pick just one? I love ALL the candy! Ok, ok. Dove dark chocolate squares.
I have been on a Dove binge all summer. Â I don’t even know how many dark chocolate and raspberry squares I have eaten in the last few months.
I’m only occasionally in the mood for chocolate stuff (and prefer dark), but I have total weakness for stuff in the ‘sour candy’ arena. Sour Patch Kids? Sprees? SweeTarts? Oh my yes. And Jelly Bellies, although I despise about half of the flavors (and of course eating only half of them is ‘healthier’ somehow; like how Skittles are a ‘health food’ since they resemble fruit flavor…).
I love sour candies too.
I remember that I once ate so many Warhead candies in high school that the top layer of my taste buds peeled away a few days later. That memory is both nostalgic and traumatizing.
