So this week is Birthday Week at the P-Mag world headquarters. It’s been two years of fun and camaraderie; two years of broadening horizons and sharing viewpoints.
I met with Ophelia over chips and queso about the idea of starting a lady blog in September 2010. She had her sights set so much higher than what I thought possible. And she’s been right about what can be achieved in a community of women, virtual and in real life.
What brought you to Persephone? What was the first post you read? When were you inspired to comment?

I was yet another person from the Great Exodus from That-Which-Shall-Not-Be-Named. It was one of the suggested alternate sites. The first time I looked at it, I thought the layout was all wonky, so I didn’t really stick around. But the second time, I looked at an article. I don’t remember the topic of it anymore, but I DO remember that it involved a joke about “vaginal flooding” when aroused, and it had a picture of a waterfall.
It was pretty much then that I decided this was a place I wanted to be.
