Eating the Weeds: Birch

So I’ve been telling you all the things you can eat, but what about something to drink? What if you’re hiking in the woods and get lost and run out of water?

If it’s spring, look for a birch tree. Birch trees are easy to identify by their white papery bark. When you were little you probably peeled this bark off the trees to play with (because kids are dicks) but the inner bark is actually edible as well, and the outer bark makes good fire tinder.

Getting water isn’t a super complicated or tricky task, as demonstrated in this video.

Now you have something to wash down your edible weeds with!
