This week’s Kickstartable features adorable little demons just right for cuddling.
Tell us a little about your Kickstart project. What do you hope to accomplish with the funds raised?
* I’ve been drawing my dark parody of My Little Pony, My Little Demon, for over five years and it has always been a dream of mine to have plush versions of my creations. After meeting Chris Gann of Gann Memorials at Dragon*Con last year, I decided that it was time to try and make my dream a reality. My project is to attempt to have 750 of four of my Demon designs created and turned into plushes.
This is your second Kickstarter project – what did you learn from your first project and how are you applying that to this current project?
* I had a better understanding this time around of how to set up pledge levels and what type of rewards might appeal to different demographics. I’ve also been promoting the project for several months on Facebook and other social media in order to get people excited for when I actually launched.
What was the most challenging part of getting your Kickstarter presentation together?
* Getting the pledge levels together and actually setting up the Kickstarter project! I spent several days writing down different pledge levels and what I wanted to offer at each level. Once I had that accomplished I had to take photos of what backers would be getting with each level (ex., The plushes in the bag, the customs, artwork, etc.). I think it took me an additional full day to put my presentation together and upload photos before I was ready to submit it for approval.
What has been the most pleasantly surprising thing since your project has been live?
*The generosity of my friends and fans to share my project with everyone to help get the word out. I’m sure I wouldn’t have been able to reach 30% of my goal in one day without their help!
What’s your project’s biggest selling point?
* Cute, but twisted/demented/wicked, stuffed animals!
The My Little Demon Plush project is able to be funded through April 12.
