Hillary is a giant nerd and former Mathlete. She once read large swaths of "Why Evolution is True" and a geology book aloud to her infant daughter, in the hopes of a) instilling a love of science in her from a very young age and b) boring her to sleep. After escaping the wilds of Waco, Texas and spending the next decade in NYC, she currently lives in upstate New York, where she misses being able to get decent pizza and Chinese takeout delivered to her house. She lost on Jeopardy.

With all due respect to Meg fans, TEAM LYRA OR GTFO!

I’m actually seriously disappointed with how these are looking right now, because ALL of my current favorites (Lyra, Pippi, Dany, and Beatrice) are falling behind. But I would be okay (after a mourning period) with losing the other three if Lyra could win it all. She cheats and lies and fights and makes friends with armored bears and makes massive, heartbreaking sacrifices all because it’s the right thing to do and she’s going to save all the worlds. All the worlds folks. Go Lyra!

YOU ARE BREAKING MY HEART WITH THIS MEG MURRAY/LYRA BELACQUA MATCHUP. They were my two favorite characters growing up. I don’t think I can vote. (I also don’t give two flips about the other matchups which is odd. I’ve read GoT and MoA but really didn’t enjoy them very much. Too long and unwieldy and in need of editing.)
