I’m surprised at how close some of these are!
Also, #TeamMarple.
GO LYRA! I’m about to lose Kel to a series not a character (not that I don’t now see that some people are in it for the character, but I’m sticking with this one – Kel still wins on character) and see Offred keep moving on, so it looks like Team Lyra is going to be very big for me this year! Team Lyra or GTFO.
I always vote against Lyra. I love her, I do. I just know that she’ll make it through to the next round usually, and I want to give her opponent, who I also usually love, a little bit of respect.
Just so we’re clear:
Come on, Thursday Next!!
This vote is killing me. COME ON THURSDAY, most bad ass of all the bad-assery.
Ahem.
Team Thursday Next! Seriously, y’all, she’s a veteran of the ongoing war in the Crimea, she has a cloned Dodo for a pet, she has a time-travelling son, a genius daughter, and another daughter who doesn’t actually exist. And did I mention she can step into books and fights literary crime? Because yeah, she hangs out in Bookworld and protects all our favorite characters! HBIC, BAMF. VOTE FOR HER!
I was very torn between Miss Marple and Penelope, I have to say.
LYRA FTW!
Marjane/Leslie was the only tough one. Marjane is awesome and strong and has a world-view that many adults need to copy. But Leslie ..made me sob my lungs out. And she was cute and smart and cool.
This was the only tough one for me. My heart led me to Leslie in the end. I’m happy it did when to my dismay I see she is losing. That means I made the correct choice. 10 year old me will always love how much I sobbed over that book.
