Happy Monday! Here in the U.S., it’s tax deadline day.
Taxpayers who haven’t filed already are flocking to the post office to get today’s date postmarked on their returns, and I’m sure that online tax filing services are being flooded. Are you a last minute filer? Like clockwork, I do my taxes around February 15th every year. If I owe, today’s the day I mail the check. What’s your tax filing style?

I do mine with the help of TurboTax, as soon as I get all W-2s. This year I had mine done before they started issuing refunds. Of course, if they were more complicated, I’d at least bribe someone math-minded to make sure I don’t do it completely wrong or forget anything.
I just got back from the post office to mail my return. I had an accountant do it (a real one, not one of the crops-up-at-the-mall ones that show up on January 1st and disappear again April 15th. WORTH EVERY PENNY) back about a month ago, but I kept forgetting to pick up, sign, and mail it. I got a slightly stern reminder call on Saturday to pick the damn things up already. Oops.
Personally, if it were up to me, I’d have done mine last month at the latest. But since I had to wait on my estranged spouse to get back to me on how we were doing it, well, we filed an extension. I definitely want someone to do them (besides me & TurboTax) because I have a ton of complicated stuff going on, and this year will be even worse (stock options and bonuses and who-knows-what on an estate issue). I’m still somewhat gun-shy on accountants after having one who was golden for my friends but ended up not bothering to do mine (well, he did one of them, but was supposed to do three)…
