Lunchtime Poll: First Video Game

I’ve been playing a ton of Dragon’s Dogma: Dark Arisen, my newest video game purchase. Which has got me reminiscing”¦

I was always jealous of my male cousins because not only did they have cooler toys, but they got them earlier than I did. I was the last one in the family to get a Nintendo, and we only got a Super Nintendo because my mom enjoyed playing the one at Grandma’s house. That was the last console I owned until I was 27.

Even so, I loved playing games as a kid, and later playing with my friends’ consoles. My first game, of course, was Super Mario Brothers. I had a terrible time jumping over the gaps, and I never beat it.

What was your first video game, and for what console?

My parents have never been big on video games, so we didn’t have one growing up. I did get to play a lot of arcade games at my after school care program. I still kick ass at Turtles in Time. And my summer camp had a Sega Genesis, so I played Sonic the Hedgehog and Street Fighter II (my personal favorite).
