It’s A Chilly October Open Thread

Let’s make some cocoa and talk about the day, shall we?

Guess who has two thumbs and got MARRIED today? That’s right. This girl.

We went to the Justice of the Peace this morning and in t minus 10 hours we’ll be headed to Tulum where we’ll have a more spiritual ceremony (and I’ll get to wear my lovely white dress). Eeeek! I’m so excited this is finally happening!

I just posted my last assignment to my torts class! I’m getting my paralegal cert so I can get out of my stupid, toxic, awful job and it has been utter madness trying to finish all the work from my last two classes–we moved house and got married while I was trying to get that work done and I ended up needing an extension, which has never happened to me before. Now it’s just time to finish criminal law up tomorrow and then I’m current!

Also, we had a huge, dramatic, MAJOR work event this week and because of my employer’s confidentiality agreement, I’m not allowed to talk about it and it is a huge bummer, because it’d be a great thing to casually drop into conversation. I’m drinking what I call a “coping mechanism,” which is a mixture of whatever tasty alcohols I have in the fridge at the moment. Tonight, it’s 100 proof vodka, amaretto, hazelnut liquor, and triple sec. Nice and toasty and warm and easy to drink.

We haven’t got our heating on yet. This shall be changing tomorrow. As of this moment, however, Juniper Puss is feeling the cold to the extent that I put a spare duvet in an Amazon box along with a blanket and he is snuggled up inside it all.

I would be going for some hot chocolate but I’m about to creep up to bed and cosy up with Eats, Shopts & Leaves. Hot chocolate for breakfast, perhaps… Oh my. I have scones, too … that it settled, hot chocolate and scones for breakfast!

Lady, I’ll bet you OWN that outfit. And even if you’re not sure, acting like a confident, comfortable badass is the very best accessory. And after you convince a few other people of your awesomeness, you’ll start to feel more comfortable in your outfit, too. Hope you had a great time! Oh, and did you wear a tiara? There aren’t nearly enough tiara events in real life.
