Lunchtime Poll: Awards Season Fatigue

Is there an award show of the awards shows yet? It seems like the next logical step.

We had our Tina & Amy moment with the Golden Globes, which were hit or miss for me (lots of weird race and gender stuff going on there). Emma Thompson and Rita Moreno brightened up the SAG awards (which I didn’t watch because it conflicted with Flowers in the Attic, and I mean priorities). Recently we’ve had Critics’ Choice and Producers Guild Awards. We’ve got the Grammy’s, the IFC Independent Spirit, Directors Guild awards and of course, the Oscars. Look, at one point I used to play drinking games, and host parties and do that whole thing. But now, it just feels exhausting and no one you want to win ever really wins (except for Amy Poehler) and yes I’m still angry about Crash.

Does anyone still watch? Are awards shows now just temporary DVR placeholders until you can read a recap and scroll through twitter briefly? Do we still have favorite awards? Is Emma Thompson owning this awards season?

Yes she is. (Gif)
