Pupdate: January 25, 2014

Asher’s new mom is hoping to get time to come meet him and bring him home at the end of February! This will fall right at the end of his allergy diet trial, but she’s going to pursue additional treatment and keep us updated if he’s not fully recovered by then. She’s getting me her vet’s information so that they can go ahead and consult with Asher’s current vet and get things rolling if he needs a referral to a specialist. Unless he just inexplicably hates her current dog, which is unlikely because he loves everyone, this new home is a go! Her dog is 8.5 years old and way more mellow than my crew, so he’ll be a much better fit for Asher’s personality and less of a trial for him.

We also discovered that soaking his feet in the Tar and Sulfur medicated shampoo the vet suggested makes a visible difference in their swelling, so more of that is in his future. His skin is noticeably much less irritated, and the excess sebum production we were seeing is starting to calm down. Everyone cross your fingers that his new mom will come down and find him all better!

We have to sit with the shampoo on him for 10 minutes, and it's really unpleasant, but worth it.

You can see how much healthier his neck wrinkles are. Trust me, this is worlds better!

Hopes to someday train her dogs not to be douchebags.
