How do you prep for winter storms? Are you scrambling to the grocery store? Are you ordering delivery, making use of GrubHub/Seamless accounts and then tipping excessively because of the guilt?
Are you stocking the liquor cabinet? Are you praying to the Internet gods that your wireless doesn’t conk out, because you know it will take a year and a half for Time Warner to ever come check on that? Is hibernation a valid reason to call in sick?

So I have no winter storm preparation, just hurricane prep, which actually pretty much amounts to the same thing. Make sure you have water, plenty of food and booze since no one delivers when the winds are going 100 mph. Also, investing in a generator is a good idea since you could be without power for a week or more, depending on where you live.
I tend to keep tea/hot chocolate/soup on hand, so my pre-storm grocery trips are usually grab a few related items (cereal, croissants, hummus/pitas, etc) and use the self checkout.
And then it’s sweatpants and blankets and hoping we don’t lose power or internets. (My apartment complex has at least one backup generator, which helps.) And knitting and netflix.
Oh I’m so boring…. I’ve done nothing to prepare…. just kinda hanging out with the net and a book and a dog…..maybe some cocoa later….
That’s me in a nutshell. “Can I get by on what I’ve got? Oh, good. BRING ME MY PUPPY! (And a book.)”
My roommate got a puppy so that’s been a primary source of entertainment lately.
