If I wanted to live in a winter wonderland, I’d move to Buffalo, Michigan, or one of the Dakotas. Between the polar vortexes (vortices?) and what seems like unending snow storms, I’m this close to packing all my shit up and moving to Florida.
At least this most recent storm had the decency to ruin the commute, causing just about everything to shut down, including my shopping center (the only other time it has closed in the almost 6 years I’ve worked there was during Hurricane Sandy because there was no power). Mr. qSS also called it a day, so we lounged around (once the driveway and walkways were cleared, of course) and watched bad TV all day. It was nice to have a day together, but I’d much prefer to play hooky when it’s sunny and 75.
If you are in the Northern Hemisphere, how are you handling this winter? Are you silently (or not so silently) cursing Punxsutawny Phil for seeing his shadow?

I live in Seattle. We’ve gotten bupkis. On one hand, it doesn’t take much to shut down the city for a week, but on the other, what are we, chopped liver?
Although, we’ve had rather lovely weather lately, air quality and upcoming drought be damned!
We better have the most temperate summer I have ever lived through. When I wake up and go, “-1? That’s not so bad. I can walk the dog in that,” WE HAVE A PROBLEM. So help me God, if it gets above 95 this summer………
I’d kill for a snow day right about now.. it beats going to work in 37 degree (celcius) heat and putting up with the boss.
Here it’s been very hot this summer and I can’t wait for the end of it.
