Things I’d Rather Be Doing Than Being At Work

It’s about that time when you start daydreaming about doing other things than this mundane task that your boss just asked you to do.

  • Flying a kite.
  • On a hammock reading a book on a warm tropical island.
  • Eating a turkey leg at Disneyland.
  • Having one or two cosmos at some swanky lounge in New York, a la’ Sex and the City-esque.
  • Cuddling with my partner.
  • Watching all episodes of House of Cards so I can catch up.
  • Eating a rack of ribs in Texas. I hear they’re amazing there!
  • Eating buffalo wings in Buffalo, New York.
  • A lot of eating, really — more like binge eating, apparently.
  • Taking a nap in an open field on a warm, spring day.
  • Working on my book.
  • Plotting to rule the world.
  • Planning ways to casually bump into Carson Daly. I feel like he’s big enough a celebrity to be like, “Oh wow, I met Carson Daly!” and it be a big deal, but not AS big a celebrity, for him to be, hopefully not a jerk. I could be wrong, though.
  • Traveling the world. Preferably all over Asia and then Europe. Maybe Australia, too. There’s a lot of countries, I’m sure I’ll be able to fit visiting all of them into a lifetime.
  • Re-reading the Hunger Games and the Harry Potter series. I don’t even remember what happened in some of the books because it’s been so long since I’ve read them.
  • Performing a spoken word poem at a slam poetry night.
  • Talking to my family back in California and in the Philippines.
  • Starting a garden. I don’t have any plants at my apartment so, maybe going to the store and buying the materials to start growing some flowers in pots.
  • Observing the otters play at the zoo.
  • Watching Youtube videos of puppies and cats. (Except I technically already do this at work).
  • Working somewhere else.
  • Being in my sweatpants, in bed, under the covers, fast asleep.
