Warm weather means it’s time for music festivals and concerts at outdoor venues. Do you have plans to go to any this year? Or, tell us about the concerts you’ve gone to before.
I’ve been to three festivals at Jones Beach — Projekt Revolution in 2007 and 2008 and Crüe Fest in 2008. (Commence mocking, I know.) I also went to the Summerland ’90s music tour (Everclear, Sugar Ray, The Gin Blossoms, Lit, and Marcy Playground) a couple summers ago at Bethel Woods, which is the site of the original Woodstock festival. I realized thanks to a recent Wikipedia wormhole was supposed to be in a field a few blocks from my house, which would be much more convenient because they have a bunch of cool events.

If you decide to do anything “of the city” while you’re there, try to avoid the South Loop. It’s packed with Lolla-goers, and you can’t get anywhere/do anything. Go at least half a mile north of Grant Park in order to maintain your sanity!
2 years ago I attended a concert presented by Edgefield Outdoor Summer Concert series, what we have here in Portland. I got to see Florence and the Machine! It was lovely and we had great weather that day. Not sure if I’ll be attending any concerts this year, although I’ve always wanted to go the outdoor music festivals in Washington (Sasquatch, for example). It’s on my bucket list to go to Coachella at some point too.
I’m going to Lollapalooza in Chicago for the first time. I’ll be 35 so I hope I’m still okay with the crowds and (presumed) poor sanitation!
