Congratulations, LYRA BELACQUA. You’re the 2014 Middlemarch Madness Champion!

I was good with either result, so yay!
Thank goodness! I may or may not be willing to admit that she deserved to win. We’ll see how things go.
Next year: Team Katniss!
Oh my God. Finally. Now all you Team Lyra people have to actually vote, instead of just doing everything in your power to clear the way for her. Next year should be interesting.
I voted in every single matchup, not just hers.
I’m just bitter. Everything was going swimmingly until Lyra made it past the Elite 8. SWIMMINGLY. I hate it when my predictions are sent awry.
I didn’t strategy-vote either! We achieved a moral victory!
WOO! LYRA!
“When you go out of here, all the particles that make you up will loosen and float apart, just like your daemons did. If you’ve seen people dying, you know what that looks like. But your daemons en’t just nothing now; they’re part of everything. All the atoms that were them, they’ve gone into the air and the wind and the trees and the earth and all the living things. They’ll never vanish. They’re just part of everything. And that’s exactly what’ll happen to you, I swear to you, I promise on my honor. You’ll drift apart, it’s true, but you’ll be out in the open, part of everything alive again.”
Oh my god. Who will I vote for next year? I am so glad that I have 11 months to think on that.
Hmm, I think next year Turtle Wexler might get my loyalty, unless someone can make a better case for someone else.
I have only been waiting FOUR GODDAMN YEARS!
Thank you everyone who voted and made this day possible. It’s been a beautiful journey, although my (and probably POM’s) bitterness towards Hermione in 2011 was an admittedly dark period. I always knew Lyra would kick MMM ass eventually. And we are finally here to honor her contribution to our childhoods.
LYRA SILVERTONGUE! Everyone else – GTFO!
IT’S ABOUT GODDAMN TIME
For real, we need tshirts. This is a sickness.
