I’ve only been to four, maybe five — Haleakala, Hawaii Volcanoes, Virgin Islands, the Black Canyon of the Gunnison (though technically it wasn’t a park yet — I went when I was a kid and it wasn’t officially named a national park until 1999), and I’ve been to Hot Springs, Arkansas, but I can’t remember if we went into the park or not. There are so many others that I’d love to visit someday, though, especially any of the ones that involve volcanoes. Because nerd.

Hillary is a giant nerd and former Mathlete. She once read large swaths of "Why Evolution is True" and a geology book aloud to her infant daughter, in the hopes of a) instilling a love of science in her from a very young age and b) boring her to sleep. After escaping the wilds of Waco, Texas and spending the next decade in NYC, she currently lives in upstate New York, where she misses being able to get decent pizza and Chinese takeout delivered to her house. She lost on Jeopardy.

9! I think. We did a lot of driving across the country when I was a kid, so I may not remembering all of them.

But I live in Montana, and so Glacier and Yellowstone are really easy ones to go to from here! And even though Yellowstone is technically in three states, Montana TOTALLY tries to steal the thunder and claim it as our own, ha. I’m sure Wyoming and Idaho are so pleased.
