There are few guarantees in life beside death and taxes, but laundry is definitely one of them. One winter weekend I had had enough, and I decided I needed to do something about the overflowing hamper in our bedroom. Why was it always overflowing? Probably because this hamper has served me since 2001, and my household has doubled since then.
I don’t really mind doing laundry, it’s kind of the ultimate multi-tasking chore. I can have a load washing and a load drying and do other things in between. But even with running loads in the washing machine 3-4 days a week, the hamper was always overflowing. That’s when it occurred to me — my house needed a bigger hamper. Four people, involved in various activities requiring specific uniforms, generate a lot of laundry. It was time to find a laundry hamper that could handle us.
I came across the Seville 3-Bag Laundry Sorter and was immediately convinced it would work. The three canvas bags sit on a metal frame to allow for easy sorting. The frame is on wheels for easy portability, and the bags are all removable.
When the package arrived, my husband put it together in less than an hour. The frame is sturdy enough to hold three full laundry bags, and the wheels are handy. The bags are big enough to hold a large, maybe even extra large, load. It lends itself to sorting as clothes go into the hamper, which makes it easy to see when a load needs to be done.
This laundry sorter is the bomb, plain and simple. The quality is exceptional for the price. It’s gotten all of the dirty clothes off my bedroom floor, and looks attractive as it does so. The hangers that attached the bags are sturdy, and the handles work well. It’s easy for me to grab one of the bags and take it to the laundry closet. This sorter is ideal for my family of four, and even a family of two may find it useful. It’s probably overkill for one person, unless wheeling a large amount of laundry at a time makes sense in your life. This could also come in handy as storage in a garage or closet, storing oddly shaped objects.
Functional objects like this one make life so much easier. If there’s something in your home that’s stressing you out, take a few minutes to think about how it could be improved. You might just be one laundry sorter away from serenity.

I have this hamper! It’s so handy! Mine has a little pocket strip on hooks, too, where I keep the stain stick and the bleach pen, and where I stuff the old dryer sheets until I’m bagging the upstairs trash.
I used to have a terrible floordrobe problem (h/t UfYH), and this totally solved it.
I really need one of these.
