The best beach in the world if you’re into used condoms and cigarette butts.
I usually choose other NYC beaches than Coney Island because they’re less touristy and cleaner. But every summer I head down to the end of the Q line and check out the Mermaid Parade. This year was no different. I took this shot of the Wonder Wheel while I was walking around looking at the crowd — the way people dress up for this, the spectators are usually even more interesting than the actual parade.
