I am traveling for work, and it is THE PITS. Does anyone else long for snuggles from their pet (and/or significant other) when they are away?
On the plus side, absence makes the heart grow fonder, and I know my Bug will be so freakin’ happy to see me tomorrow when I get home. And as an added bonus, I’m in a state that sells wine at the grocery store and was able to purchase this adorable single-serving glass of Pinot Grigio. I guess it’s not all that bad.

Are you kidding me? I miss my pet when I’m at WORK for the morning! All I can think about is the lunchtime snuggles which await me, especially when it’s cold and dark outside.
I guess I miss my s/o. But he’s not nearly as good at the cuddles.
I think I have a new job starting on thursday! I received a call from my staffing agency, from a woman who works closely with my agent. She mentioned a job opening and talked a little about it, then asked if it sounded like something I’d be interested in. After my very positive response, she asked if I could come in tomorrow to fill out some paperwork, adding that I would need to bring in *two forms of identification and a voided check for direct deposit*! We talked a little bit more, and she eventually asked if I would be available to start thursday!
Confirmation will be made in about 14 hours. It’s a temp assignment, but I know (and the woman reassured me) those don’t always mean an instant layoff. The pay rate is better than any job I’ve had before, too, so even a few months will be a huge financial help.
As for travel separation, when my s.o. visited his hometown for a few days, every night I slept in a t-shirt referencing said town and wore pj bottoms identical to a pair of his boxers but in a smaller size.
Yay, job!
