A good reader makes a good writer, some writers say.
I don’t know about that, but after finishing my 88th book* of the year (Boy, Snow, Bird by Helen Oyeyemi), I can definitely say that reading never gets old. Saves you from your own life, entertains you, passes the (public transport) time. But hey, if you did something else with your day, you’re welcome in the comments as well.
*Already carried on to book 91: China Miéville’s Kraken.

I just finished number 103 tonight, not counting rereads. I’m sure I’ll read a few more before this year is out, so I’ll have a respectable year but nowhere near my record.
Holy shmoly! My biggest number is 141, in a year of unemployment and no school.
I’ve read like maybe 3 books this year, but I’ve listened to podcasts, so I’m not a complete waste of space, right?
(I have definitely read more than 3 books because I can name at least 5.)
You’re never a waste of space.
I’m officially at 105 books this year, and I’ll probably finish another one tonight. And I’ve read a few others that were too terrible to even admit to on Goodreads, but I can’t remember exactly how many.
Also I somehow missed the release of the latest Jasper Fforde book and I’m completely anal about buying his stuff in hardcover, so I don’t want to pay $10 for the e-book so I can start it tonight when I know I’ll pay again for the real thing. Supposedly my library has it, so I’ll have to run over there tomorrow (unless they have the ebook for download, which I doubt).
Holy guacamole and here I thought I was being book wormish!
