I’m not in school, so I can do what I want.
During the semester, I don’t get to read for fun as much as I’d like because I have so much assigned reading to do. So it’s time to catch up! What have you been reading lately?

I’m reading the first book of The Keepers now. It says ’12 and up’ but I have yet to struggle through THIS IS FOR A CHILD things happening. AKA, nicely written “children’s” fantasy book.
I’m reading Virginia Woolf’s “Orlando” because I like to look like a feminist killjoy on the subway.
I feel so unsophisticated. When I travelled, I used to read Bridget Jones (seriously, over and over, love it).
I got a kinda huge stack of romance novels from the library (to go along with all the free ones I’ve gotten from Netgalley or Edelweiss or have read on Scribd) thanks to ILL. I’m rereading the Anne Rice Sleeping Beauty trilogy because it’s been a damn long time since I first read them and I wanted to see how the held up before reading the new book in the series. Oof. That’s gonna take a post or two, hopefully next week. I need some brain bleach and I’m really sick of the word “spank.”
I read “the Martian” (emergency airport reading material) and “The Girl With All The Gifts.” They were both good, but both editions had book club questions at the end which just seriously annoys me. I’m coming down from a “good book high,” and, boom, I’m back in high school English class.
I’ve been reading ALL the Kelley Armstrong books. Well, not all of them, but about, erm, five? I’ve been enjoying her Nadia Stafford trilogy. And The Cuckoo’s Calling was a fab read, too. The other day I also picked up an Artemis Fowl book that I hadn’t put away – I’d forgotten how lovely they are. What else? Erm, oh! Myfanwy Collins’s book arrived today and I’m looking forward to getting started on it over the weekend. To shake things up, I’m also away to start Healing Sex by Staci Haines, which looks like it could be very interesting/helpful – will have to see!
