This Weekend Open Thread Makes Terrible Decisions at 1:30 a.m.

I guess I run now?

The other night, I couldn’t sleep, and at some point while tossing and turning, my addled brain decided I should sign up for a 5K.

I’m not a runner. So I guess I’ve got some training to do. Fortunately, the race isn’t until Halloween.

Oh gods, I can’t run. I’m usually fine with walking, though. I love cycling, but I just don’t get off my ass and do it. I need to tune up my bike and start commuting with it. My regular commute home is worse than to work. It should not take 45 minutes or more to drive 12 miles. Cycling would be a challenge only through avoiding major streets & opting for side streets instead. Also if I could avoid hills, that would be great.

In other news, my supper this evening consisted of two clems and ramen. I swear, I would have eaten two or three more clems if something in my mind hadn’t said, “we have other foods, y’know.”

Running is horrible and evil, unless there are zombies chasing you. That being said, I know a lot of people have had success with the Couch to 5k program.

I used it and I got through a 5k. Also, I almost ran into a tree because I was staring at some dude that was juggling WHILE RUNNING! WTF!?!? (It was a lollipop loop-he was on the way out, while I was on the way in)
