Friends, it is hella warm here in the Northern Hemisphere, and I want to have a refreshing boozy drink. What are your favorites? Non-boozy suggestions welcome also, should that be the way you roll.
Previously, I’ve talked about my love for the Moscow Mule-inspired cocktail, The Russian Lit. It’s gin-based, therefore it is amazing and magical.

Lately, I’ve also been mixing gin with peach Fresca or diet Squirt because it’s easy, caffeine-free, and perfect for late night Netflix binges while it’s too damn hot to sleep.
Other favorites include lime margaritas (no salt, please), or ginger beer mixed with rum.
What about you? What are your favorite summer drinks? Give a shout in the comments.

No booze here, but I frequently make this:
-probably three tablespoons of lemon juice
-12oz or more of filtered water (over the juice)
-frozen fruit if i feel like it
—alt: lemon juice, fill glass with frozen fruit, fill remaining space with water
I swear I don’t drink this as a “cleanse”. It’s just less-boring water. Also I’m a huge fan of orange juice mixed with any dark berry or grape juice.
Hey, if it gets a person to drink more water, then I’m all for it!
And orange juice mixes are so great, though I’m not big on grape juice anymore.
I have been putting bourbon in my ginger ale. It’s super refreshing and faster than making a good gin and tonic with extra lime
Ginger ale is the most magical of mixers.
Over the past couple days I have finished off a six pack of Magners pear cider and will probably be going back to the grocery store with the fancy beer selection to get more.
I love pear cider!
I really like herbal iced tea. Yes, I’m that exciting.
No shame in that! I have some mint I’ve been meaning to use in a tea.
Frozen coconut limeade from Smitten Kitchen. Light, refreshing, and if you add some rum–perfect kind of summer afternoon booze. http://smittenkitchen.com/blog/2014/06/limonada-de-coco/
That sounds awesome.
I’m not a big booze-drinker (it takes very little to either put me to sleep for the night or make me have to pee every 5 seconds), so I go with either a mint-chip milkshake or a Coke Slurpee.
I miss being able to just order a milkshake somewhere. Stupid lactose. I COULD make them myself with lactose-free ice cream, but… but… I JUST WANT SOMEONE TO DO IT FOR ME. *dramatic flop* ;)
