We’re in that weird between-seasons part of year; the calendar says it’s still summer until the equinox on the 23rd and it may still be hot as blazes where you are, but school’s in session, Labor Day weekend has come and gone, and the sun is setting earlier and earlier each night.
Many people apparently don’t realize that Labor Day is a celebration of the contributions of labor unions. So today’s question is, have you ever been a union member?
Memorial Day is in one week. What are you still hoping to cross off your summertime to-do list?

Here’s where I admit that I’ve never really listened to podcasts. But now I need something to keep me awake while doing some tedious data entry at work, and I need a break from listening to the same Pandora stations and Spotify playlists over and over.

My mother’s value system is different than mine, but she gave me one of the best pieces of advice I’ve ever had about life achievements: when you complete something important, buy yourself a piece of jewelry to commemorate it.
When I was a kid, I was always super excited to check the newspaper on my birthday to see which famous people were born the same day. Now Wikipedia makes that even easier!
So it turns out that it gets pretty darn boring when you start a new job and they aren’t really ready for you. Good thing they don’t monitor internet usage! (Now that I have a computer login and can actually use the internet…)
