Weekly Anime Review

It’s almost the end of the fall season. Fafner Exodus is setting up a big fight for its finale. Heavy Object will probably just finish its current storyline. K: Return of Kings also has a big fight setup for its ending from the look of it. Owari no Seraph is more setting up the kids […]

Weekly Anime Review

The fall season is almost done. Just a few episode left for most shows unless they get a full season (Gundam does, yeah!). Fafner Exodus had another great episode, definitively anime of the year for me. Heavy Object added more exposition for the setting. K is getting closer to a conclusion, while Owari no Seraph […]

Weekly Anime Review

No Heavy Object this week. But there was more awesome Fafner and Gundam: Iron-Blooded Orphans this week to compensate and the Gundam did really have a fight in it. Owari no Seraph was its usual “Yu is stupid” episode; those are getting old but I doubt it’s going to change.

Weekly Anime Review

A few more weeks left in the fall season. Fafner is riding toward a grand finale, Owari No Seraph seems to focus on its plot more, Mobile Suit Gundam had some family themed episodes, and Heavy Object has the guys doing a mission in a cold place again.

Weekly Anime Review

At this point I can safely say that Fafner Exodus is my anime of the year. Even if the last four episodes are trash. I also really like the new Gundam so far. Heavy Object and Owari no Seraph are getting better as well. K: Return of Kings is stale though, but I’m over half-way through […]

Weekly Anime Review

I am at the point where all I care about is Fafner Exodus and the new Gundam show. Heavy Object, K: Return of Kings, and Owari no Seraph are too “we have a plot, but not really” for me, although Owari no Seraph is mostly failing in the execution there.

A Diwali Carol Playlist

It’s time to clean everything, go shopping, and eat until you explode. As I mentioned last year, I don’t know that much about Diwali. I do know there aren’t enough Diwali carols, or really any.

Weekly Anime Review

Thing are getting exciting, well at least in Fafner Exodus and Iron-Blooded Orphans. Owari no Seraph, Heavy Object and K: Return of Kings are more traditional show that still don’t seem to know where they are going.

Best Props in 90s Club Hits

I recently discovered that 90s club hits have spectacular music videos. My knowledge of these songs was mostly limited to hearing them during across the floor, jazz exercises at Miss Hamilton’s School of Dance. Thankfully Youtube exists, and we can rediscover these lost gems of the early 90s. Between the black leather, spaghetti straps, and […]

Book Review: Season of Mists, by Jen Corkill

Penny Dreadful won’t be back until next summer, and the end of the season left me with a hangover. No worries, though, there’s a plethora of novels and book series in the same vein that can give me the same fix Penny Dreadful does. Season of Mists, by Jen Corkill, is the first book in […]

Weekly Anime Review

Fafner Exodus continues to be the most awesome show I’m watching. Unlike the others, it follows its plot without one moment to catch your breath. K: Return of Kings seems more about fanservice than plot. Mobile Suit Gundam don’t seem to know if it should be serious or not, while Heavy Object and Owari no Seraph clearly don’t […]

Eva Leigh begins with a promising start to her new Wicked Quills of London series with its first installment, Forever Your Earl. Leigh takes us from the finest houses to the poorest slums of Regency London in this delectable treat of a book.

Weekly Anime Review

Lots of explosions this week. There were things that exploded in Fafner Exodus, Heavy Object, K Return of the Kings and the new Gundam show. No explosions in Owari no Seraph, but we got a lot of screaming instead.

Weekly Anime Review

I need more Fafner in my existence. It is such a great mix of awesome mecha animation and despair. The new Gundam might be following in the same steps, too. K: Return of Kings is taking it slow with its plot, while the second episode wasn’t boring, it lacked substance. Owari no Seraph had a bunch […]

Dispatches from Geek Girl Con 2015

I spent last weekend nerding it up, lady style, at Geek Girl Con in Seattle.
