ALL OF THIS. I was up until 2 a.m. tweeting, retweeting, following, sharing, supporting, and even as a woman, it still opened my eyes. It was both heartwarming and heartbreaking to see all of the “Yes, me too” tweets. The common denominator among most, if not all, of the tweets is that women do not feel safe. Not in their own homes, not on the…[Read more]

Nailed it with that last paragraph, Z. Hugo didn’t create the system but he certainly used it to his advantage.
I struggle with the mental illness aspect because, as someone who has battled depression for […]

Neil, a lot of us noticed that too and quite a few names were mentioned in our discussion that we felt should have been included. There’s definitely the potential to take all of this info even further and I’m […]

Anything by Pink Floyd but especially DSotM or The Wall. You absolutely CANNOT skip tracks on those. I think the album self-destructs if you do.

I love that whole vibe that you get from live shows. When my son comes home from one, especially Warped, I grill him for every detail so I can live vicariously.
When I was in my 20s, I had free tickets to see […]

Yeah, there’s a whole different set of rules just for the mosh pit. Circle pits are a safer way to get involved and watch out for the formation of a Wall of Death. If you see that starting to happen, it might be time to GTFO.

Excellent post, Jovana. Unlearning is often an ongoing process too. Once you start peeling away at it, you start finding other beliefs – some that you may not even be aware of – that need to questioned or hashed out.

This is so touching, Zahra, sweet but heartbreaking. And your mom sounds like a lovely lady. Whenever you talk about her, I can see why you turned out to be such an amazing woman yourself.

Wait, what? What the hell does any of this have to do with Oprah or her TV show? Your comment makes no sense. And I don’t know who think you’re calling an “ugly gorilla” but you can take that shit somewhere else.

Your comment says a whole lot more about you than it says about Zahra. And before you go calling someone else a bitch, take a look in the mirror. Your attitude and your language is an accurate representation of […]

I find it hard to contain the amount of love I feel for this show. Like it took some serious effort to go one whole day without talking about it. The reasons why are summed up perfectly by this entire article. Meg nailed it!

We took in a puppy mill survivor a few months ago and that poor girl is constantly stressed. I didn’t know until after we got her and I started doing some research that the yawning and licking at her nose were […]

I’ve been reading a lot about all of this, going back to when he first posted the story about the attempted murder/suicide, because I’m sort of a psychology nerd and there’s so much involved – addiction, mental […]

It may be shallow but I reeeeaaaally want to see this because of Charlie Hunnam. The fact that there are two Sons of Anarchy actors in it is even better. If they would have thrown in Ryan Hurst, I would’ve gone to […]

That interview. Ugh. The woman interviewing him lost me in the very beginning when she described Casey Malone’s outrage as “whining” about the book being “rapey.”
