Carpeted bathrooms? Groossssss….. I would think the window thing is to do with the small living space you mentioned, but aside from that, I can offer no explanations. Many of these also occur here in Ireland […]

Hmmmm…. didn’t know that. I normally click through anyway because Feedly’s formatting isn’t great but it’s good to know! I want the good wine!

My response to this post was to go toast some banana bread so I would have something to put Nutella on :)
I’m just curious, do articles read through a feed reader count towards statistics?

Wise words! I think one of the toughest parts of these types of situations is mutual friends. When you meet up in a group and all of a sudden two people in the group don’t see eye to eye? Awkward. I’ve been on […]

I’m sure I’ve got loads but the one that springs to mind is kind of similar to yours, Luann. I’d only just started dating my current boyfriend (it was our second date I think?) when I got stranded in the city (it […]

Sharon commented on the post, Lunchtime Poll: What Are You Reading? 8 years, 6 months ago
I just finished reading the Circle Opens series by Tamora Pierce. It didn’t take long because they are for children but I’m trying to catch up on her more recent work, she was my favourite author as a child. […]

‘Oh no, I can’t enjoy anything in case someone tries to pay me for it later. My life is so hard, you guys.’ Also love how he tries to don the cloak of chronic illness because he had to go to the hospital this one time.

Clean all the things! I’m itching for a spring clean. Also I am going to try growing vegetables again so I want to get some seeds in the ground soon. But today there are flood warnings here in Ireland so I think […]

From the celebrities as feminists article – ‘“feminist” is not a synonym for “hard-nosed or interesting woman.”’ I think I’m gonna get that put on a poster.

I bought some store brand tissues recently when I was sick and they were just awful, I had to go back out and buy Kleenex balsam. I felt like such a snob, but once you’ve had the good stuff it’s hard to go back :)

Ugh, my condolences about your cold. I had the killer virus of doom for a solid two weeks in December. I lost my voice for the first time ever, hurray for new experiences!
I’m a big fan of regular paracetamol […]

Sharon commented on the post, Driving in the Snow 8 years, 7 months ago
Where has this advice been all my life?! It’s rarely snowy or icy in Ireland, at least not the non-mountainy parts where I live and work. We specialise more in damp and grey. But a couple of years ago when I was a […]

Wow I didn’t even know there was a movie! (Irish terrestrial tv was all we had back then). I remember reading the book when I was about 12 and being…. confused? Let’s go with confused. So obviously I’m off to […]

As far as I know roast goose is mostly an English thing (open to correction, but I see them on English supermarket ads a lot). Roast turkey is more common and most people I know would have turkey and ham. And then […]

I really hate to give mediocre or generic presents, especially for people who’ve been on the gift list a long time, where avoiding a repeat of a previous year is an added challenge. I sometimes get quite stressed […]

For take away it’s got to be my local Indian restaurant, which is tried and tested the best Indian restaurant I’ve ever eaten in. And I’ve tried quite a few. I remember bringing my boyfriend there on of our first […]

Sharon Byrne commented on the post, Lunchtime Poll: What’s Your Favorite Pumpkin Treat? 8 years, 9 months ago
Pumpkin is not really as much of a thing here in Ireland – we carve them for Halloween but we don’t really eat them. Although Starbucks seasonal flavours are universal, I think.
Having said that, the farmer I […]

Sharon Byrne commented on the post, On (Re)Learning to Drive 8 years, 9 months ago
I learned to drive when I was 21. That wouldn’t really be considered late here though, cars are expensive to run compared to in the US, I think. The only people I know who learned to drive before finishing college […]
