New Zealand is the best!! Since coming back from honeymoon there I’m entertaining this mad plan to get a job at a Kiwi uni and move out there and watch rugby all the time and eat chips and endless quantities of […]

Aw I wanted to do the Crossing SO MUCH but we were foiled due to snow. We walked a few kilometres into it and made jokes about how one does not just walk into Mordor…

I hate to say it as a Leinster die-hard, but surely Joe Schmidt is the obvious choice?

Happy St. Patrick’s Day everyone!
@QoB, my friend, I hope you’re out enjoying Paddy’s Day and getting over the COMPLETE TERRIBLENESS that was this evening’s so-called rugby. I can’t remember the last time we […]

This is a great, really thought-provoking piece. But I do have to disagree with you on this statement:
We also need to focus less on the actual words spoken and seek to understand what is driving the rhetoric so […]

As others have said, it is not enough to want to help people. It is not enough to want to stop “someone who’s bad.†You have to realize who you are, where you are coming from, and what baggage and privilege you’re […]

That order guide is amazing!
I LOVE the Watch novels most of all and will plug them until the end of days, with the Death books a close second (not least because of the two amazing characters of Susan and, ofc, […]

Yeah, sorry, I wasn’t clear there. You’re quite right about the midwives. As far as I’m aware the situation is reversed for obstetricians (just not enough of them) but I could have misunderstood that.

To be fair to the NHS it’s less about money than it is about ensuring that all wards are properly staffed at all times. Like QoB said, two midwives have to attend every home birth, and since births can’t be […]

On your first point – indeed, I’m not sure how helpful it is to link the presidential system too closely with the federal system. The Germans have a federal parliamentary system without a strong presidency, while […]
