The summer anime season is almost upon us. I actually started one new show called Argevollen, but the rest is coming next week. This week was the finale for Black Bullet, but Captain Earth and Mahouka are staying for a few more weeks.
Nobunaga the Fool and Knight of Sidonia ended this week. Sidonia‘s ending was much better than Nobunaga. Black Bullet takes a dramatic turn, Captain Earth introduces a new enemy, and Mahouka is still having kids doing magical tournaments and the plot doesn’t move as fast as it should.
We got some action this week. Knight of Sidonia continues in reducing the ship’s population at alarming rate, and Black Bullet does something similar. Nobunaga the Fool has less death, but they still hit where it hurts. Finally, Captain Earth has a strange episode. I really don’t know where this is going.
We are getting closer and closer to both season finales and mid-season episodes. This means weird things are happening and the pacing gets strange. In Nobunaga the Fool we are entering the last stretch and all the pieces are on the table. The next episode should be interesting, even if I have no idea where […]
This was a slightly boring week, because all of the shows are setting up the next plot point, so there’s lots of talking and exposition and not enough action. Well, Captain Earth had action, but it was almost the same thing as the previous episode.
We got interesting plot development in Black Bullet and Knight of Sidonia. Captain Earth is still somewhat generic, while Nobunaga The Fool is getting more and more crazy the closer it gets to its ending. Mahouka had a somewhat redundant episode.
Nobunaga The Fool is getting a bit boring, but there aren’t that many episodes left so I will probably watch it until the end. Captain Earth, Mahouka, Sidonia and Black Bullet are getting interesting, though. Pretty action combined with plot secrets is always a winner.
We got action, plot and exposition this week. Mahouka is continuing their anti-magic terrorist storyline with the trope that student school administration has all the rights. Captain Earth has more plot twists. Nobunaga the Fool has their “all is lost” episode, Black Bullet has more Tina Sprout, and Knights of Sidonia has drama… lots of drama.
We saw lots of plot advancements, which can be summarized as politics, always politics. We also had some action, and two shows had gravity-less episodes. Knight of Sidonia is probably my favorite show this season, and I hope it keeps it up. I want Nobunaga the Fool to end soon because I think its starting to lose […]
Lots of action this week. All the shows were full-on action with little exposition, except Mahouk, which had a lot of exposition and plot placement. Captain Earth had a “meet Bad Guy A” setup. Black Bullet went by super fast and I feel like I missed something. The best, though, was Knight of Sidonia; it’s […]
All the shows were mostly action this week with little plot or exposition. At least we got to see awesome animation in Mahouka and Knight of Sidonia.
Like usual, the second episode usually resolves the first episode, which means more exposition and fighting than anything else. Although this time there was quite a bit of fighting in each of my shows. Also, Nobunaga the Fool has a new opening sequence, but I preferred the old one.
A new season is upon us. Nobunaga the Fool is the only thing that remains from the winter season, and I added a magic show and two humans vs. monsters shows to my watch pool. Mahouka Koukou no Rettousei is the magic-based show, although some of it looks more like tech and there are also […]
