We’ve got a few big stories to mention this week, plus an interesting interview with The Notorious RBG. Let’s get started:
Happy Friday, everyone. Once again, our news roundup for this week is a mixed bag of good, bad, and varying degrees of amusing. And if you remember my story from last week about those skin-bound books at Harvard, I’ve got a relieving update. Let’s get to it, yes?
I am bothered by all the discussion over Dzhokhar Tsarnaev. I am bothered by the outbursts, the ignorance, and the “I love America!” outcry that inevitably breaks out when a tragedy on this scale occurs. I have been told this means I am sympathizing with terrorism. But sympathy and concern are not the same.
Compared to last week, the news today is downright cheerful. And that’s not saying much, because it still makes me want to find an island populated entirely by kittens.
