Weekly Anime Review

The Spring season is coming quite close to end; Chihayafuru only has one episode left and Gargantia doesn’t have many episodes left as well. Majestic Prince had a “breather” episode and we get a recap next week, too. Shingeki will continue, as does Majestic Prince and Yamato. Yamato also had a nice character building episode […]

Weekly Anime Review

Chihaya continues with a breathless episode that seems way shorter than it is. The show should end soon because there isn’t enough manga material to take it into future seasons. Seisui no Gargantia is becoming a bit of a joke, I think. Majestic Prince had more info dump and the Yamato make new friends that […]

The week’s episodes were pretty interesting. We learned secrets in Gargantia. Chihaya got to play against the Queen. We got lots of exposition in Majestic Prince, and Yamato explores a sci-fi trope about AI.

Weekly Anime Review

This week wasn’t as entertaining as last week. Most shows were exposition or sentimental ones. Both Space Ship Yamato and Majestic Prince give us more information about the “bad guys.” Chihayafuru starts the single player tournament for real and the Gargantia continue to be relatively boring.

Weekly Anime Review

We got some awesome action this week, both Majestic Prince and Shingeki no Koijiin were really good in that category. Chihayafuru and Yamato had “cooldown” episodes. The Gargantia had conflict as a theme, but it didn’t really involve combat as much as yelling, stubbornness and greed.

Weekly Anime Review

Chihaya had a really tense episode this week. Shingeki no Kyojin and Yamato 2199 were mostly action. Seisui no Gargantia is starting to become stale and nothing changes, well, until the last scene of the episode. Majestic Prince presented “bad guys,” so it was mostly exposition.

Weekly Anime Review

The Chihayafuru team final match isn’t over yet, there are still eight cards in play, and Nishida, Taichi and Chihaya are not done yet. Hopefully it ends next week. They still have to do the individual tournament, and I just hate where it ended. Majestic Prince and Shingeki no Kyojin were mostly flashback episodes. Gargantia […]

Weekly Anime Review

Chihayafuru is back with the final game, yeah! Shingeki no Kyojin has some scenes that usually only show up in horror movies. Space Ship Yamato and Gargantia are still very well-made shows, and Majestic Prince got a nice sequence this episode with some funny moments.

Weekly Anime Review

Chihayafuru gave us a recap episode; at this speed they will have to do a third season to show the end of the National tournaments. Majestic Prince is really starting to be the most interesting show I’m watching, yet everyone hates it. Shingeki no Kyojiin keeps close to the manga. Gargantia gets some interesting looking […]

Weekly Anime Review

There were a lot more shows to watch this week. We got Chihayafuru’s last episode on the semi-final, and the second episodes of Majestic Prince and Shinkegi. The rest was all new: Suisei no Gargantia and Valvrave are two new mecha shows. Spaceship Yamato 2199 is a remake of an old show that feels super retro […]

Weekly Anime Review

The spring season has started! So I get to watch two new shows along with Chihayafuru: Majestic Prince and Shingeki no Kyojin.  Majestic Prince is a space-based mecha show with teenagers, pretty formulaic in its genre, but it might be a deconstruction which could make it awesome. Time will tell. Shingeki no Kyojin is a […]

Weekly Anime Review

Well, two of the shows I was watching are done and the spring season hasn’t quite started yet. I had a lot of fun watching Psycho-pass and Shin Sekai Yori, but now Chihayafuru is all that there is left. Well, until next week, probably. This means I also added a little section for what I […]

Weekly Anime Review

Psycho-Pass and Shin Sekai Yori have come to an end. The last episode of each show was quite nice and wrapped up the story nicely. They also didn’t bring any changes, but did leave it at, “Let’s hope for changes.” These two shows had a lot of things in common in the end. Chihayafuru is […]

Weekly Anime Review

Psycho-Pass and Shin Sekai Yori are coming closer to their conclusions. The remaining episodes are going to be intense.  Chihayafuru continues the Nationals competition, but is focused mostly on Arata this time. Most of the episode was a flashback to when he was a kiddo with Chihaya and Taichi.
