If I were ever to get a tattoo, I would have a semicolon inked somewhere special (ahem).
While I teach writing for a living, I’m not the doom-and-gloom “Texting is ruining English!” type. Language changes. It’s pretty neat to be witnessing such profound changes. But I do love apostrophes, and I am sad that they seem to be on the way out.
One of the hardest things for any writer to do is to write a minimum required number of words or more. I personally hate assignments with specific length requirements, because I feel that it only encourages sloppy writing and stupid formatting tricks.
