Happy New Year!
News in Asia

Happy New Year!
We will have quick links today. I hope this holiday week is good if you celebrate; if you don’t, may the Force be with you*.
The last week was filled with terrible news from all over….
This week, we talk about the completely preventable tragedy of a hospital hit by U.S.-NATO forces, some good environmental news, girls climbing mountains and Internet protesters.
Welcome to another week of news. We’ve got election news from countries other than the U.S., natural disasters, and a different version of the events of 9/11 from Afghanistan’s former leader.
Welcome to another week of news from Asia. Happy reading!
As of this writing, I’m super excited for the Women’s World Cup final tonight.Â
Now the news…
I’ll be honest; the news this week makes me want to rage quit the world slightly more than usual.Â
Welcome to another week of news!
Welcome to another week of news!
Welcome to this week’s collection of news.Â
We have your mixed bag of good news and bad news; trying to include more good than bad. Please know that this week’s edition carries trigger warnings for violence against women and rape.
Well, we do root for them in all things, but right now, we were especially pulling for the men’s cricket team in the World Cup.
So yesterday was International Women’s Day and to celebrate, we will have stories focusing on women, as well as cover a few other stories. I’ve highlighted positive stories, but there are a few stories that carry trigger warnings for rape and violence.
