I was inspired to read Good Omens by our Middlemarch Madness voting this year, in which an unknown-to-me Neil Gaiman character (Anathema Device) made it pretty far. The book, a joint venture between Gaiman and Terry Pratchett, tells the story of the imminent apocalypse through the eyes of a slew of delightfully quirky characters.
I love love love Terry Pratchett. I want to say that I love all his books, but in truth I am a Discworld freak. Most of his Discworld books are for adults, not that teens don’t enjoy them but there have been only five specifically written for younger audiences.
I have avoided Pratchett trivia before now because I’ve feared a lack of interest. However, I have been emboldened by all the calls for Discworld ladies in our Middlemarch Madness lists.
